Electrodes of a pulse monitor need humidity for offering optimal results while measuring heart rate. The chest strap electrode cream guarantees constant humidity and has a very great conductivity, so that heart rate measurement gets very precise. The body-own humidity, i.e. sweat, is subject to deviations and therefore not 100 % precise.
